If you don’t have Expression Web already – today (15th) is the last day of our giveaway … you never know you might win Expression Web 3.0…. Or you could get SharePoint Designer 2007 which is free its like Expression Web 1.0. IF you are are a student or meet some other criteria there are programs in ms that you can apply to like the spark programs.

I think Microsoft should realise that there are other people in the world using their software. We do not benefit from any specials. I really do not know why. All I want to do is buy an upgrade which I cannot get in this country at the moment. So Microsoft you have lost a customer. Time to look at some other web software that I can easily upgrade and get support.

P.S. I have already switched to Open Office. It works very well

Last year when they did this, the uk one followed on after that. You can easily upgrade Expression Web however it is a business they do sell their software, if you want free then you should find free software but complaing about a business selling their software is highly illogical… and getting upset because it hasn’t reached your country yet is a bit pathetic … its not just a matter of giving everyone a special… there are agreements and contracts and laws that have to be met with other countries… just because a big business is a big business doesn’t mean they can just skip over these things. If you want free sharepoint designer 2007 is free. (Its like expression web 1.0) As for resources there are so many for expression web (frontPage) you have a lot to pick from. You don’t say what country you are from … but from your email addy perhaps its new zealand … if you tell me your country I will ask what the situation is there for upgrading – and upgrading from what btw? There are about 21 expression web mvps … anyone of us you can ask this question of and we can put it forward to our leads or to the ew team.

“Bit pathetic” does describe the service we get here. Frustrated is how I feel about the service. Microsoft is an international company, I would expect the same level of service here as in America. To give you an example : I always supported Microsoft, My software buying would favour Microsoft but then I noticed trends. Software would just get dropped, Front Page got dropped. After some time Expression web came out. So I naturally tended towards it. It took about 4 months for me to get an upgrade. The local Microsoft office 1st said they had never heard of Expression web. So I sent web links to the web site. Then They claimed it was not popular and would not import it. So after a month I finally got them to agree to import, but was told there was not upgrade path from Front Page as Front Page was discontinued. So time passed then I came across a webpage stating you could upgrade from Front Page. My plight started all over. Eventually after many emails I got an upgrade version of Expression Web 1.

With Expression Web 3 upgrade I decide to rather order online. On the Microsoft Store site there is no mention of USA only. It is only when you cannot enter a foreign zip code and cannot. It seems I am not even able to order the none special version. I have also sent 2 emails to the store but have had not reply.

I really feel that if Microsoft wants to trade internationally, they must be prepared to do so. I live in sunny South Africa. So Tina if you could help, that would be great.

  10. Jill Muir says:

    Hi Tina,
Will MS then be selling EW3 upgrade as a promotion in the UK sometime soon?

I know business has to trial some places first but I really find it odd that MS do not trial elsewhere – UK – for instance;-))

    Thanks Tina.

    Jill

  11. Tina says:

They put on in the UK last year Jill … are you on twitter? You could ask @MSExpression if it will happen. Or on the ms social forum.
    Lanai CHC Construction Progress

They do it in all places .. its to do with other countries laws so they can’t its not ms’s fault.

    Tina
