Further Expression Web 3.0 Insights

Further Expression Web 3.0 Insights

Thanks to a comment from Justin Harrison a program manager at Microsoft for Expression Web I have had further thoughts since my first post on this subject.

I recommended that one should upgrade now from Expression Web 1.0 to Expression Web 2.0. However, it dawned on me that you could upgrade to Expression Web 3.0 when it becomes available and according to Ars Technica that will be pretty soon. Note though, instead of upgrading now to Expression Web 2.0 those features that you might want to retain are available in the now free SharePoint Designer 2007 which is for the most part like Expression Web 1.0. It is not ideal having to use two programs to retain some of the features that are ideal in certain situations, but its a better method because it cuts down on the costs. As Justin also points out the standalone SuperPreview will only be available for Internet Explorer whilst the inbuilt version in Expression Web 3.0 will be able to cover a variety of other browsers.

Since ladies are allowed to change their minds 😉 I reserve the right and do so.

New recommendation: – Upgrade or buy Expression Web 3.0 when it comes out, and if you find yourself needing some of the features that were available with Expression Web 1.0 that are not available because of the underlying program code changes in EW 3.0, well then, SPD 07 can meet those needs nicely. Save monies and have all the features. new and old what more could a gal ask for?
